  •     Our school consists of two bachelor degree programmes, including (a) Electrical Engineering & its Automation and (b) Automation. Among others, study field of the students in Electrical Engineering & its Automation major is divided into three directions, namely: "Power System & Automation" field, "Electrical & Control" field and national "Excellence Engineer Education & Training Program" field. Furthermore, the electrical engineering discipline is an experimental unit of "Graduate Students for State Special Needs", which has the qualification of recruiting master students of science engineer.

        There are over 32% of all the teachers in our school have processor title, in addition, there are also a "provincial famous teacher" in our team. Our school highly focus on teachers’ practice ability, 55% teachers have experience of working in enterprises. In order to enhance the quality of teachers and students, cooperation with international universities is also carried on these years.

        Some institutes, such as "Robot Engineering Research center of Fujian Universities", "Electrical & Automation Technology" and "Electronic Technology Application" are located in our school. Students can take kinds of experiments in more than 13 specialized laboratories, which cover areas over 1592 m2 in all and with experimental equipments worth 37 million yuan. During these years, these laboratories are supported by governments and have obtained a lot of awards. Furthermore, in order to promote the cooperation with enterprises, we also build some laboratories and practice bases with companies including ABB, GE, Delta, Xuji, Huadian and so on.

        Electrical engineering major got the qualification of recruiting master students of science engineer on Oct, 2011. The first 24 master students are recruited in 2012 and this number rose to 31 the next year. All the students will be cultivated by both school and 41 master tutors selected from enterprise. In order to improve the students’ quality, we have signed cooperation agreements with 27 enterprises to cultivate them.

        Students in our school actively participate in various competitions of arts and professional skills .They received a lot of awards such as “School five-star civilized class”, the first prize of the national robot contest and so on. In 2013, we successfully held the "Taida Cup" innovation design competition about automation system, which can significantly improve students’ innovation and practice ability. In recent years, all employment rates of graduates are over 99%.

     

    Electrical Engineering & Automation (undergraduate, four years) ------ "National Excellent Engineer Education Plan" and Provincial Special Major.

    【Training objectives】
    To be an engineer, the students should acquire basic knowledge in engineering technology field of "power system & automation" and "electrical & control". They can be engaged in the design and manufacture of electrical or electrical industry. Skills which the students should have include test data analysis, production managements and application of computer technology, etc.
    【Professional characteristics】
    Electrical Engineering & Automation major is an experimental unit of "Graduate Students for State Special Needs", which has the qualification of recruiting master students of science engineer. This major is also a "National Excellent Engineer Education Plan" and "Provincial Special" major. We attach great importance to the cultivation of students’ engineering practice ability; over 50% of the teachers have business experience. Close cooperative relationships with many electrical manufacturing companies, such as ABB, Xuji, Huadian are established, which can help the students find a satisfactory job after graduation. Among them, ABB set up a special scholarship for the most outstanding students (6000 yuan per year per student).
    【The main course and the employment direction】
    Direction 1: Power system and its automation
    【Main course】
    Circuit theory, electronic technology, electromagnetic engineering, electrical engineering, electrical science, high voltage technology, steady state analysis of power system, transient stability analysis of power system, relay protection of power system, high voltage electrical apparatus, etc.
    【Employment direction】
    Students graduated from this direction can be engaged in system design, system operation, test data analysis, product management, etc. in the fields of power system, power supply system or electric power equipment manufacturing.

    Direction 2: Electrical and control
    【Main course】
    Circuit theory, electronic technology, electromagnetic engineering, electrical engineering, electrical science, high voltage technology, electrical equipment, high-voltage electrical appliances, low-voltage electrical appliances, the principle and application of intelligent electrical apparatus, manufacturing technology of electrical appliance, etc.
    【Employment direction】
    Students graduated from this direction can be engaged in design, manufacturing, control, operation maintenance, test analysis, research and development, product management of the power transmission equipment such as high and low voltage electrical switches.

    Direction 3: “National Excellent Engineer Education Plan” major
    Some outstanding students will be selected into the "excellent class" a year after they enter school. They will be cultivated according to "3+1" way, namely, they will stay at school during the first 3 years and then go to some cooperative enterprises for one year. We believe the students’ engineering and innovative ability can be improved significantly through this training mode.
     

    Smart Grid Information Engineering (undergraduate program, four years).

    【Training objectives】 
    The students in this major will acquire basic knowledge in engineering technology field of "smart grid" and "Information technology". They will master the skill of power information acquirement, processing and communication technology, the technology of power system’s generation and operation, the management knowledge of smart grid, etc  After the course students will be expertise in electrified transmission and power system operation, automatic control, power electronics, information processing, experimental analysis, product development, technological management, the use of professional software and some electrical engineering related areas.

    【Professional characteristics】 

    This program is based on the need to development of national strategic emerging industries, closely combined the urgent requirement of new professional with the development of the smart grid, and is a national characteristic professional. The students learn basic knowledge and theory of electrical engineering, information technology, communication technology, sensor technology and engineering expertise, comprehensive quality of students with interdisciplinary and professional skills.
